It looks like Solid Snake really did bring someone else along with him when he snuck into the infamous Battle Royale Island in Fortnite.
As part of the V28.10 update, Epic Games added Solid Snake and Raiden into the game. But, unlike his mentor, players won’t have to complete quests to play as Raiden – they can buy him outright.
For 1,800 V-Bucks, players can get the complete Raiden skin set, which includes his back bling, pickaxe, and item wrap. Unfortunately, it doesn’t come with Raiden’s “bulge” from Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. Although Epic didn’t exactly do an accurate job of bringing Solid Snake over (they stripped him of his glorious behind).
As you might expect, Metal Gear fans had something to say about Raiden’s arrival in Fortnite. The consensus is that fans aren’t complaining that they’re getting Raiden and Solid Snake. Rather, they would’ve preferred to get Jack’s better form, namely, Raiden as his cyborg self in Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (yes, a spinoff/sequel to Metal Gear Solid IV: Guns of the Patriot exists).
All memes aside, the inclusion of Raiden and Solid Snake in Fortnite comes as rumors are ramping up for a release date reveal of Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.

Konami is currently working on the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Chronologically, it’s the first game in the Metal Gear timeline and it doesn’t feature Solid Snake and Raiden. Instead, the main character is Naked Snake before he became the Big Boss. Naked Snake is the genetic father to Solid Snake, Liquid Snake, and Solidus Snake.
According to PlayStation’s earlier teaser trailer, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is coming out this 2024. Most likely, it’ll be part of the lineup of the company’s upcoming State of Play showcase.
Aside from Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Konami is rumored to be working on a remake of the first Metal Gear Solid game and METAL GEAR SOLID – Master Collection Vol. 2.
