After working on the XCOM and Civilization titles, Firaxis Games now has its attention set on a more superhero-centric game.
Unlike its previous works that revolved around the extraterrestrial and a certain pacifist who just can't seem to stop nuking everybody, Marvel's Midnight Suns is a game based on a fictional team of superheroes who specialize in the occult. However, because this is still a Firaxis title, Marvel's Midnight Suns will feature a turn-based combat system with cards in play.
What is the Marvel's Midnight Suns gameplay alike?
After the game's initial reveal in late August, lead designer Jake Solomon took to Twitch to talk more about Marvel's Midnight Suns' unique combat system.
In Marvel's Midnight Suns, the players will take on the role of The Hunter. Their goal is to hunt down their mother, who is also the queen of demons, Lilith. Otherwise, Lilith will get the opportunity to wake up an ancient evil that's far more dastardly and sinister than she is. Both mother and offspring will find themselves at odds throughout the game as they find themselves woken up by different parties using a combination of science and dark magic.
