Marvel has finally found a writer for Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. With the film scheduled for May 2026, the studio has officially confirmed that it has signed a notable MCU writer to pen the screenplay for the upcoming movie.
According to a post by Deadline, Michael Waldron has reportedly signed on to work on the script for the first Avengers movie in the Multiverse Saga. Waldron is best known for being the creator of the Loki series on Disney+ and developing the screenplay for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Outside of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the writer is noted for his work on the adult animated TV series Rick and Morty.
It was reported earlier this month that Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania writer Jeff Loveness departed from The Kang Dynasty. There has been speculation that Marvel wants to move away from a villain-centric storyline for its upcoming MCU projects. The information was shared by MCU: The Reign of Marvel Studios co-author Joanna Robinson on the House of R podcast.
