Logitech launches handheld gaming device in Europe

For instance, the G Cloud didn't originally ship with a virtual button. However, this has been corrected via software updates and, as a result, gamers can now play touch-based mobile titles on it.

Despite its high asking price, the G Cloud's features are hardly cutting edge. The device is designed for cloud gaming and, as a result, doesn't have much computing power or powerful specifications. In fact, it only boasts a mid-range CPU (the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G), 64GB of storage, and 4GB of RAM. For connectivity, it comes with Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 5 support.

On the features front, the device is like every other handheld device on the market. It features a large, 1080p FHD+, seven-inch touchscreen, and a set of gamepad controls, including joysticks.

The device also comes with a microSD card slot, speakers, microphones, a USB-C port, and a headphone jack, which is standard for the average handheld gaming console on the market today. One place where its low computing power is an advantage is its battery life as the low demands of its mid-range CPU means it can last as long as 12 hours on a single charge.

Apart from its primary function as a cloud-based handheld gaming device, you can use the Logitech G Cloud for remote play on the Xbox and PlayStation consoles. In other words, you can use the device to play games you already have on either of these consoles when you are not in the same place. For instance, you can use the device as a second screen when you are in a neighboring room.

The same is also true for your PC as you can use the Logitech G Cloud device to play video games you are streaming on your gaming PC.

In other gaming news, reports emerged last month that the new ASUS ROG Ally handheld console will cost $699.99 when it officially launches on June 13. Many gamers will be hoping it rivals the Steam Deck in quality and, by extension, crashes its price.

The Logitech G Cloud handheld gaming device is currently available for pre-order in Europe and the UK.
