If you have been playing Elden Ring, chances are you have already come across the Grand Lift of Dectus. This lift is located northeast of Raya Lucaria Academy and gives access to the northernmost part of the map, which is significantly more challenging. You need to activate this lift to progress in the story.
To activate this lift, you need two pieces. Together, these two pieces make up a medallion called the Dectus Medallion that activates the lift. In this guide, we show you the location of the lift and both pieces.
Grand Lift of Dectus
The Grand Lift of Dectus is located northeast of Raya Lucaria Academy in the Lake of Liurnia. You need to go through the academy to get to the Grand Lift of Dectus. To access the academy, you need a Glintstone Key. The Glintstone Key is near the academy, but a Glintstone Dragon Smarag guards it. The exact location is west of the Raya Lucaria Academy.
The good thing about this Glintstone Key is that you don’t have to fight the dragon to get it. You can quickly run in, grab the key, and make a quick getaway on your mount.
There is another site of grace called Crystalline Woods directly behind the rock structure with the key.
Once you have the key, make your way to the main entrance of the Academy (South Raya Lucaria Gate), use the Glintstone Key to go through the sealed entrance.
You will come out at the Main Academy Gate site of grace.
You will find another blue seal if you go north. Interact with it to be teleported again and reach East Raya Lucaria Gate site of grace.
Keep going north, following the road until you reach a large building at the end called the Tower of Dectus. The road is swarming with strong enemies. Get on your mount, and keep running by avoiding everyone.
There is also a site of grace inside the Tower of Dectus.
Dectus Medallion (Left)
The left piece of the Medallion is found inside Fort Haight, located in the southeastern part of Limgrave by the shore.
The fort is well guarded, but you can skip through all of the enemies if you wish to do so.
Use the stairs to go to the top of the fort.
When you reach the top, you will also be greeted by a very powerful Godrick Knight who does blood loss damage to you. You can ignore him and turn right to move further up to get to the chest for the medallion piece.
You will find a chest at the top. Open it to obtain the left side of the Dectus Medallion.
Dectus Medallion (Right)
The second piece of the Dectus Medallion can be found in Fort Faroth, located in the eastern part of Caelid.
You do not have to fight any enemies here. While they are pretty strong in this region, there aren’t a lot of them in this fort. This fort is relatively easier to run through.
Go inside, and run through the vampire-like creatures in the dark area.
Similar to Fort Haight, you will find another chest when you reach the top. Open the chest to obtain the second piece of the Dectus Medallion.
Activating the Lift
Once obtained, take both the pieces back to the Grand Lift of Dectus and stand on the circle in between the two knight statues.
Use the medallion to activate the lift, and the lift will take you to the third area of the map called Atlas Plateau.
