Microsoft has just released a new update for its latest consoles, the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S. The new update introduces a plethora of new features to the consoles, including a party chat suppression feature that eliminates background noise like gamepad clicks and heavy breathing.

Xbox's noise suppression feature should help minimize background noise. In addition to the given examples like clicks and breathing, other examples include sound from speakers, a fan or A/C blowing air, and a loud chewer. Regardless of what makes you tick when you're playing multiplayer games, the new noise suppression feature should make for a smoother party chat experience. Going forward, you should be able to hear your friends much more clearly. The only downside is that you won't be able to use loud background noises as an excuse whenever you end up dying for not listening to your teammates.

Once they've downloaded and installed the latest update, OS version 10.0.22621.1836, users can take advantage of this handy new feature by opening the console's guide then selecting Parties and chats, and finally, Options. According to Microsoft, it plans to roll out the feature to other devices outside of the Xbox Series S/X.
