Kumail Nanjiani is looking forward to an Eternals sequel

For a while now, MCU films have been on the receiving end of constant criticism, especially from the American directors, Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese. In 2019, Scorsese's controversial remarks about Marvel films evoked anger among many Marvel fans after he said:

I don't see [Marvel movies]. I tried, you know? But that's not cinema. Honestly, the closest I can think of them, as well-made as they are, with actors doing the best they can under the circumstances, is theme parks. It isn't the cinema of human beings trying to convey emotional, psychological experiences to another human being.

Even though he disagreed with Scorsese's assessment of the films, Nanjiani defended his right to criticize them.

I obviously love the movies Tarantino makes or Scorsese makes, and I may disagree with Scorsese's opinion on superhero movies, but I mean, who else has earned the right to have an opinion? If Scorsese hasn't earned the right to have an opinion on movies, then none of us should have an opinion on movies. It's so strange that people get upset about it.

In 2017, Nanjiani was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay for the romantic comedy film The Big Sick, and since then, he has gone on to star in big Hollywood productions such as Men in Black: International, The Boys, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Hulu's biographical drama miniseries, Welcome to Chippendales.

Speaking of Eternals, the popular entertainment news leaker @MyTimeToShineH recently hinted at the possibility of a sequel by revealing the plot and saying that Chloe Zhao might not return to direct the sequel.
