It's been a decade since we last saw the quirky superhero antics of Kick-Ass, but if you've been yearning for more masked vigilante action, there's good news on the horizon. Matthew Vaughn, the director of the original 2010 film, has been dropping hints, and it seems we're in for a reboot of the franchise.

Vaughn, who's no stranger to shaking up the superhero genre, recently disclosed at the New York Comic-Con that he's gearing up to breathe new life into the Kick-Ass universe, with filming slated to begin next year.

Though we're all attached to the original characters, especially the dynamic duo of Dave Lizewski and Hit-Girl (played by Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloe Grace Moretz, respectively), this reboot will introduce us to a new cast of characters. Regardless, Vaughn teased the possibility of our old favorites making a return in potential sequels.

Back in 2010, Taylor-Johnson was relatively fresh on the Hollywood scene. Fast forward to today, and he's since become a household name, thanks to standout roles in blockbusters like Avengers: Age of Ultron, Nocturnal Animals and Bullet Train. He's reportedly even being considered as the next James Bond. But, while that remains uncertain, he's set to star as the lead character in the Sony Spider-Man Universe's upcoming film, Kraven the Hunter.
