Keira Knightley is going to star in the Boston Strangler movie

Ridley Scott, as well as Margot Robbie, have both joined in as producers. Meanwhile, Matt Ruskin of Crown Heights fame has signed on to write the script and direct the film, which is scheduled to start filming sometime in December in the same area where the heinous acts happened.

McLaughlin's investigation into the murders was particularly interesting as she ended up uncovering more. In particular, just how corrupt the city's system was. This should add a layer of thriller to the murder mystery movie. It also appears that Ruskin did his homework for the movie.

As per Deadline, Ruskin went as far as to track down Cole and McLaughlin's families. His research reportedly took him deep into when the two journalists first started working on the case. We can therefore expect to see a high level of detail from the Boston Strangler film.

The film is still in its early stages and hasn't started shooting yet. However, the level of talent involved in the project is easy to see. If we were to speculate, 20th Century Studios will want the film to be ready just in time for the Awards Season next year, if not the year after.
