Keanu Reeves was a huge part of why Cyberpunk 2077 was such a big deal. He was effectively the co-star of the game, lending his likeness to be used for Johnny Silverhand. Naturally, CD Projekt RED leaned in on this, using Keanu extensively as part of the game's marketing campaign. The developers even went as far as to claim that Keanu Reeves loved Cyberpunk 2077.
Unfortunately, it appears that this was all bogus, as Keanu himself has confirmed that he's never played Cyberpunk 2077 before.
It appears that Keanu hasn't played Cyberpunk 2077 at all
Back when Cyberpunk 2077 was first launched, CD Projekt RED CEO Adam Kiciński implied that Keanu's been playing Cyberpunk 2077 and that he "loves" the game. However, in a recent interview, Reeves denied Adam's claim. The Matrix actor explained that he doesn't play video games at all, even the ones that star him. He does admit to seeing "demonstrations" of Cyberpunk 2077, but he's pretty sure about not having played the game at all.
