The Guardians of the Galaxy will sing its swan song later this week with the premiere of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5. As the actors move on from their MCU roles, they’ve been sharing their future plans.
Franchise stars Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista have said that they are moving on from their roles as Gamora and Draw the Destroyer. Chris Pratt on the other hand has already starred in The Super Mario Bros. Movie which is tracking to earn $1 billion at the box office.
Franchise mainstay Karen Gillan is also moving on from the Guardian of the Galaxy. The actor recently sat down with Total Film to discuss which DC character she is interested in playing. Gillan is best known for her role as Nebula in the Guardians of the Galaxy trilogy.
According to Gillan, she would love to play Poison Ivy at some point. For the actor, Poison Ivy is fun and cool to portray. Her statement is well timed as DC plans to reboot the Batman series with Batman: The Brave and the Bold.

“I always thought that Poison Ivy was really fun,” Gillan said during the interview. “Honestly, if James asked me to play an alien that sits in the background of a shot and doesn’t talk, I would say yes [laughs]. Because working with him has been one of the great joys of my career so far.”
Gunn is already planning to bring the cast of The Guardians of the Galaxy over to DC. The director has been recently appointed as co-CEO of DC Studios. However, the director has been criticized for planning to take actors from the Marvel Cinematic Studios over to DC.
“This cast are like my family,” Gunn told Empire Magazine. “I cannot tell you how close I am to Chris Pratt and Pom [Klementieff] and Dave [Bautista] and Zoe [Saldaña] and Karen [Gillan]. But I also know I will work again with all those people individually again.” He adds, laughing: “Probably at my other job.”
Other than Gillan, Mandalorian star Katee Sackhoff is also interested in the role of Poison Ivy. She previously starred as the villain in Batman: The Long Halloween.
“I can’t quite say that I would sell my firstborn, because she’s quite special to me [laughs]. But I would like sh*t twice and die to play Poison Ivy,” Sackhoff shared.
Andy Muschietti is rumored to direct The Brave and the Bold. The movie is still in early development and no cast or release date has been announced.
