Rockstar Games reportedly passed up on the chance to work on a Red Dead Redemption remaster or remake to focus on Grand Theft Auto VI, which is a shame as John Marston's voice actor, Rob Wiethoff, would've been all in on a return to his iconic role.

Wiethoff was with Dan Allen Gaming where the interviewer asked him about the rumors of a potential re-do of the first game. Asked if the actor ever thought the remake would happen, Wiethoff responded positively, saying "I would love for it to happen." Wiethoff says that he'd "love an opportunity" to team up with Rockstar Games again, saying that he "can't really say enough good things about Rockstar."

2010's Red Dead Redemption looks surprisingly good on the Xbox Series S/X for a decade-old game.

Unfortunately, while Wiethoff is on board, Rockstar isn't. Instead, Rockstar is currently all in on GTA 6.

It's easy to tell based on all the job listings and after the studio put Red Dead Online on the back burner. Besides, Take-Two Interactive wouldn't just give GTA VI such high praise if it wasn't confident that Rockstar is putting all of its resources to make sure that it lives up to expectations.
