John Cena's Vacation Friends 2 gets a release date

Clay Tarver will return to helm the project and serve as its scriptwriter. Todd Garner returns to the buddy comedy alongside Stuart Besser. The star-studded cast will get support from Carlos Santos, Ronny Chieng, and Jamie Hector.

The first film held the record for Hulu's biggest opening weekend before being dethroned by the debut of Prey. Vacation Friends received mixed reviews from critics and fans with an average score of 49/100 on Metacritic.

While the buddy comedy received middling reviews, critics did praise the cast of the movie. Critics praised the performance of the quartet with Cena and Hagner being mentioned for their natural aptitude for sharp humor.

Cena is having a very busy year as he is set to appear in several moviesincluding Fast X. The pro wrestler turned actor will also be in the Barbie movie as well as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem. Cena is also returning for the second season of Peacemaker on HBO.

Vacation Friends 2 will be streaming in the United States on Hulu on August 25. The movie will be released in Latin America under Star+ while it will be available for streaming on Disney+ in all other territories.
