John Cena Confirmed To Voice Peacemaker in Mortal Kombat 1

Peacemaker will likely be able to do whatever Kurtis Stryker can, the only difference is that he can do it better.

Ed Boon, the co-creator of Mortal Kombat, has just confirmed that Peacemaker will get a gameplay trailer tomorrow, February 22. Peacemaker is the next DLC character to join the Mortal Kombat 1 roster.

This formerly obscure comic book character, originating from the self-titled superhero television series and DC Comics, is known for his exceptional fighting skills and dedication to peace at any cost, even if it means employing violence.

The official Mortal Kombat Twitter page has teased fans with a glimpse of what they can expect, showcasing a pre-fight clash between Peacemaker and the iconic Sub-Zero. This teaser not only heightens the anticipation for the gameplay trailer but it also confirms a celebratory fact: John Cena, who portrayed Peacemaker in the television series, will voice the character in the game.

Known for his peak human physical prowess, expert combat skills, and proficiency with a variety of weapons, Peacemaker’s transition into the Mortal Kombat universe promises to offer players a unique mix of tactical and brute force gameplay. Although info about his in-game abilities is currently sparse, the teaser hints at his potential move set such as an energy blast from his helmet that sends opponents flying. This inclusion raises a lot of questions regarding the character’s playstyle. By the looks of it, Peacemaker will play similarly to a longtime Mortal Kombat character, Kurtis Stryker, who’s available as a Kameo Character in Mortal Kombat 1.

Nevertheless, the full extent of Peacemaker’s capabilities and how fits will become clear with the release of his gameplay trailer.

Peacemaker is part of “Kombat Pack 1”, the first DLC for Mortal Kombat 1. He’s the next character to join after Omni-Man and Quan Chi. The others are Ermac, Homelander, and Takeda.

With the gameplay trailer’s imminent release, fans await the opportunity to embody the peace-loving yet paradoxically violent hero in the battle for supremacy within the Mortal Kombat universe.
