Joe Exotic to be re-sentenced, could end up spending fewer years behind bars

It's now been more than a year since the show initially aired and two years after he was sent to prison, and it finally seems like the future is getting brighter for Exotic.

According to Deadline, the United States Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Denver ruled that the original court did not handle Exotic's two murder-for-hire counts properly. The court claims that the lower court should have considered the two murder-for-hire charges as one.

Because of this, Exotic is due to be re-sentenced. If successful, he will be facing fewer years in prison. Of course, it is still possible that Exotic could end up doing the full 22 years.

Exotic has spent the past couple of years serving his sentence in Fort Worth, Texas. In that time, the eccentric big cat breeder and handler has tried to rally some big names to his cause.

The two biggest names that Exotic has attempted to ask for help from are the former United States president, Donald Trump, as well as Kim Kardashian.

Neither of Exotic's pleas has proven successful. Yet, Exotic remains a darling of the crowd. On the other hand, fans seem to despise Baskin for some reason.

Should the re-sentencing result in good news, it could only be a matter of time before Exotic goes free. By then, he might still be able to capitalize on his newfound popularity. The public eye wants to find out more about the kind of life that he has lived and what he plans to do going forward.
