It's been some time since the last Spawn movie premiered. So, you can only imagine how fans, who have been eager to see a new movie based on Todd McFarlane's comic book character, were pretty excited when Jason Blum announced a new Spawn movie. And it looks like we will finally be getting the movie, in around two years.
Jason Blum, CEO of Blumhouse Production, is pretty confident that his studio can complete the reboot in the next two years. In an interview with Comicbook.com, Blum said that he predicts that the movie will be coming out in 2025. He adds that Blumhouse is close to having a script for the upcoming movie.
"2025 is when Spawn is going to come out," Blum shared. "I stand by that. I stand by that."
He adds, "We're very close to having a script that we're all gonna feel great about. And once we have that, we'll attach a director and an actor and we're gonna go make the movie."
However, this year has been pretty challenging for Hollywood with the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, which brought the movie industry to a standstill. Spawn's lead actor Jamie Foxx had an undisclosed medical emergency that left him in the hospital for quite some time. While the details of the illness have been kept under wraps, the actor described the experience as being to "hell and back".
