There have been a lot of recent casting rumors for the new Batman in the rebooted DC Universe - as well as just about any mainline DC hero. DC Studios co-CEO James Gunn has addressed the rumors by giving a rather disappointing update for The Brave and the Bold.

It seems that the writers' and actors' strikes have severely impacted DC Studios' next Batman project. In a recent post on Threads, Gunn replied to a fan asking if the recent casting rumors were true. The DC Studios co-CEO said there is still no casting and shared a status update for the upcoming Batman reboot.

"I don't know what you're talking about, but we don't even have a script, and there's a strike happening, so, no, no casting," Gunn said. Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are reportedly looking for an actor to portray Bruce Wayne aka Batman in his prime. The most recent rumor suggests that DC Studios is eyeing John Krasinski for the role of Caped Crusader.

The Brave and the Bold is a unique Batman project as it will feature the Dark Knight working with his sidekick Robin. Robert Pattison, Ben Affleck, and Christian Bale all portrayed Batman as a solo operator rather than a team player.
