It's official: Blade reboot will be R-rated

However, Demange must take extra caution to remain faithful to the source material and steer clear of the pitfall where so many Hollywood directors tend to make the film all about themselves (seriously, nobody wants that "made for modern audiences" nonsense in Blade).

Somehow, Demange will have to make do with a budget of $100 million or less. Considering Marvel's previous projects needed almost $200 million or more to get off the ground, we have to wonder how the production team intends to turn Blade into a blockbuster.

Perhaps, though, this smaller budget could be a blessing in disguise, forcing the film to rely more heavily on the strength of its storytelling rather than the dazzle of visual effects, which have long been a pain point in MCU productions.

As we count down to Blade's Valentine's Day release in 2025, the excitement is apparent, especially now that the film has been revealed to be R-rated. With the magnetic Mahershala Ali stepping into the role of the iconic Daywalker and True Detective's Nic Pizzolatto being brought on to write the script, every fiber of my being tells me that this reboot will be one to remember.
