2017's xXx: The Return of Xander Cage grossed $346 million worldwide against an $85 million budget, which all but guaranteed a sequel. The talks of a potential fourth xXx film gained even more traction when D.J. Caruso, the director of the third xXx film, expressed his interest to work on it. At the same time, Vin Diesel made a move so that he had more creative control over the fourth film and future installments.
However, while there has been news of positive developments regarding the fourth xXx film, it appears that we shouldn't expect to see it anytime soon.
Who is going to be in the fourth xXx film?
Despite voicing out his desire to return to direct the fourth film, D.J. Caruso's return isn't guaranteed. However, it hasn't stopped the studio from approaching several artists. For example, Jay Chou and Zoe Chang both reportedly signed on to join the fourth xXx film back in 2018. The former is best remembered for starring alongside Seth Rogen in 2011's The Green Hornet.
