Wrestling fans all over the world have been gripped by one question for the better part of the past month: Where is the Rated-R Superstar, Edge, end up next?
Despite talks of Edge's possible departure to All Elite Wrestling, he appeared in the new SmackDown intro, suggesting a possible WWE return.
For what it's worth, Edge himself confirmed that his WWE contract will end later this month while denying reports that the WWE had declined his conditions for renewal.
Dismissing many of the circulating stories, the 49-year-old wrestling icon mentioned, "There's nothing going on. There's no hard feelings between me and WWE. I love WWE, it's my dream gig." The 7-time World Heavyweight Champion then revealed the existence of a contract extension proposal from WWE, though he remains indecisive about his next steps. There's also the possibility of Edge's retirement from in-ring actions, given that he feels the Sheamus match might be hard to surpass.
More recently,on the "83 Weeks" episode, Eric Bischoff, a former wrestling executive, shared insights into what he may advise if he were managing Edge. Bischoff's "glass-half-full" approach would involve discussing opportunities with the AEW founder, Tony Khan, and former WWE stalwart, Bryan Danielson, urging a collaborative effort between Bryan and Edge for Edge's storylines. The "glass-half-empty" angle, though, sees a scenario where Khan may not be willing to give up his control, potentially leading to Edge being lost in the shuffle like many other former WWE talents.
