It's been a hot minute since we've had a new Gears title, with Gears 5 revving its chainsaw back in 2019. Since then, the Gears have been a bit rusty, but Cliff Bleszinski, the original creator of the series, has recently posted a series of tweets that have gotten Gearheads talking.

Known within gaming circles as CliffyB, Bleszinski revealed that he's not just ready to jump back into the fray; he's suggesting he might even spice things up with a little... let's say, edgy content for the franchise.

In his first tweet, Bleszinski made a direct, albeit light-hearted, proposal to Microsoft, stating, "Gears 6 is trending. MS, you have my #." He accompanied the same tweet with his trademark humor: "Maybe I'll find a way to get ass eating in the Gears franchise."

Despite Bleszinski's open invitation and fans' hopeful wishes, Microsoft seems to be playing it cool. CliffyB admitted that he's been left on read, with no response from Microsoft. As he explained in his next tweet, he's resorted to making jokes, because that's what you do when you create one of the most iconic gaming franchises and get ghosted, right?
