Get ready for Invincible’s first Steam game, Invincible Presents: Atom Eve

The Invincible IP is expanding beyond just an animated series, with a Steam and mobile-based game already in the works.

Invincible fans had an absolute blast at the now-concluded San Diego Comic-Con! The Image Comics book was celebrating its 20th anniversary since it began publication, and fans were treated to plenty of surprises about upcoming content, including two brand-new games that are currently in development.

Ubisoft’s Invincible: Guarding the Globe, a free-to-play idle squad RPG, was the first game to be revealed. A collaboration with Skybound Entertainment, the upcoming game will be set in the Invincible universe, offering a new storyline not seen in the comics or Amazon Prime Video series.

Available for iOS and Android, Invincible: Guarding the Globe will feature well-known characters like Omni-Man, Invincible, and Atom Eve. This seems to be following the same formula that has worked out well for other licensed mobile games, offering a non-canon way to collect and interact with known characters from the franchise.

Similar to The Walking Dead franchise, Robert Kirkman, the creator of the Invincible Prime Video animated series and co-founder of Skybound Entertainment, has big plans to expand the Invincible universe. To achieve this, Skybound Games is currently working on the second Invincible game, titled Invincible Presents: Atom Eve.

Developed by Terrible Posture Games, this visual novel on Steam will allow players to take on the role of Atom Eve, Invincible’s love interest and former Teen Team member. This title will be much more narratively driven and of greater interest to hardcore fans than the mobile offering.

Invincible Presents: Atom Eve will feature turn-based combat.

Skybound Games, known for their work on The Walking Dead: The Final Season (the game that was once developed by Telltale Games before its closure in 2018), will employ a similar concept. Players will shape the story’s outcome through their choices across multiple paths.

You’ll also have the freedom to enhance Atom Eve’s skills by gaining power, unlocking combat abilities, and accessing unique dialogue options. The game has also been assigned a mature rating for depictions of violence, gore, and bloody bodily harm – it wouldn’t be Invincible media otherwise, right?

Atom Eve (real name: Samantha Eve Wilkins) is one of the major characters in the Invincible franchise. Born out of a government experiment to create super-beings, she wields the power to manipulate energy and matter.

As the story progresses, her role in Mark Grayson’s life grows, and Kirkman has been keen on developing her character. This is evident from the recently released Prime Video special episode that centers around her backstory.

More great news for the Invincible franchise was announced at the SDCC, where an official trailer and release date for Season 2 were revealed. The show is set to return on November 3, although only the first four episodes will premiere this year. The latter half of the show will arrive early next year.

In addition to this, it’s been confirmed that Omni-Man will join the lineup of new characters in Mortal Kombat 1, and J.K. Simmons will be voicing the character once again.

Invincible Presents: Atom Eve is set to launch in December on Steam.
