Video game developer, Insomniac Games, reassures fans that Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is "still slated for 2023." The studio made this revelation when it responded to a fan's questions via its official Twitter account.

Marvel's Spider-Man 2 was unveiled over a year ago at the September 2021 PlayStation Showcase presentation. The video game is the sequel to the original Marvel's Spider-Man, released in 2018, and Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales, released in 2020.

Insomniac Games released the game's trailer at the Showcase presentation. However, the developer has failed to provide any other footage of the game since then. Also, the developer, as well as Sony, has provided little to no update on the game's state. Because of this, fans of the franchise who have been excitedly waiting for it began speculating that the game's release date could be delayed. It was during such an exchange that the studio's Twitter account decided to allay fans' fears by reiterating its commitment to releasing the title next year.

The Twitter exchange began when Insomniac Games shared a GIF from the PC release of Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales. To that post, a fan questioned why the studio hasn't provided any update on the upcoming sequel despite its release window becoming active in a few months. Another fan engaged with the post and responded that they hoped the game doesn't get delayed. This comment prompted the official Insomniac Games Twitter account to respond, saying "Don't. We're making good progress, and it's still slated for 2023. Showing games takes time, effort, resources, and coordination."
