Get your rigs ready, folks! QuakeCon 2023 will be an in-person event later this year.

Unfortunately, while this is a welcome development, the iconic LAN party will come with one key change. Unlike in the past, QuakeCon 2023 will require attendees to pre-register and buy tickets before the event.

In previous iterations, attendees only needed to purchase a ticket if they wanted to join the "BYOC" (which stands for Bring Your Own Computer) LAN party. Otherwise, it was free admission. This year, everyone has to buy a BYOC ticket. In addition to this, QuakeCon 2023 will not have an exhibit hall. But, Bethesda wants fans to know that it will make the tickets worth it, with several other activities planned outside of the BYOC.

For example, the QuakeCon Finals Party, the finale of the Quake World Champions, as well as the Tabletop Village, are all going to be a part of QuakeCon 2023.

According to the official webpage, QuakeCon 2023 will take place on August 10-13 in Grapevine, Texas, with tickets starting at $75 and going up for as much as $400.
