According to a press release issued by the streaming platform, Netflix has partnered with Chadwick Boseman's alma mater, Howard University, to establish a $5.4 million endowed scholarship inspired by and in memory of Boseman himself. Simone Ledward Boseman, Boseman's wife, has also shown her full support for this scholarship establishment by being the inaugural donor.
As it is named, the Chadwick A. Boseman Memorial Scholarship will provide a full scholarship to the incoming students of the College of Fine Arts, covering the full four-year tuition cost.
Before he portrayed "Jackie Robinson" on "42" or played the iconic "Black Panther," Boseman was an alumnus of the College of Fine Arts at Howard University. The late actor, writer, director, and producer, graduated from the university in 2000 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in directing.

Boseman has always been an active member of the university and kept in touch even after graduation. He delivered the university's commencement address back in 2018, which inspired many. He told them to find a purpose rather than just a job.
