The Lament is an Exotic Sword that can be acquired in Destiny 2: Beyond Light. Needless to say, it is required that you purchase the Beyond Light DLC before you can unlock The Lament.

How To Get The Lament
To get the ball rolling, you must visit Banshee-44 in the Tower as this triggers the Lost Lament quest.
Your first objective is to find the three Dead Exo Locations. These are found in Europa. There are a total of nine Dead Exo Locations and you only need three. Below are the easiest Exo locations for this quest. Dead Exos' Locations Cadmus Ridge - A snowy ridge in Europa. Enter the area from Variks and you must hang left and search for a snow cliff. Jump on top of the bank and there is your first Exo. Perdition Lost Sector - The second Exo is also found in Cadmus Ridge, just go to the Perdition Lost Sector. The Exo is found in the boss room. You must run through the Perdition Lost Sector and defeat the boss at the end. The blue Exo is sitting near the crate of the Exo area. Concealed Void Lost Sector - Go to the Asterion Abyss and run to the Concealed Void Lost Sector. Just like the Perdition Lost Sector, there is also a boss here, defeat it. Your final Exo is sitting next to the round Fallen object on the deck.
