If you’re a Pokémon fan, mark your calendars because the Pokémon universe is dropping some massive updates you’ll want to be a part of as soon as possible.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have unleashed a multiweek-long Mewtwo Tera Raid Battle that has fans buzzing, but that’s not all; additional DLCs, new Pokémon, and critical gameplay features are in the pipeline.
From September 1 to September 18, you can take on the Mightiest Mewtwo in a seven-star Tera Raid Battle that could be the toughest you’ve ever seen. This particular raid doesn’t just bring the legendary Psychic Pokémon Mewtwo back into the fray but also intensifies the challenge. Mewtwo isn’t just any run-of-the-mill opponent; it’s coming armed with maxed-out Effort Values, a colossal boost to its HP, and an arsenal that includes moves like Psystrike, Aura Sphere, Ice Beam, and Calm Mind. Take him down, and you’ll not only have the bragging rights but also the rare chance to add this behemoth to your collection, complete with a Mightiest Mark.
Now, before you even think of taking on Mewtwo, there are a few hoops to jump through. This seven-star Tera Raid requires you to have completed the game, redone all the Gyms, triumphed in the Ace Tournament, and participated in at least ten 4-star and 5-star Tera Raids. The Tera Raid event is strictly not for novices; it’s an endgame challenge that will test your mettle as a Pokémon Trainer.
As for the strategies, you’d be wise to bring your A-game and deploy your best Bug, Ghost, and Dark-type Pokémon to exploit Mewtwo’s weaknesses. If you’ve got a Mew, this is the time to bring it out. Mew receives a 50% boost to its HP and a 20% boost to all its stats during this raid, thanks to the Mightiest Mark. Not only is Mew a versatile Pokémon with a broad move pool, but it can also double as an excellent support Pokémon, setting up Light Screen or debuffing Mewtwo with moves like Mud Slap and Struggle Bug.
But wait, there’s more on the horizon. The Teal Mask DLC is set to introduce new Pokémon heavily inspired by Momotari, a folk story from Japan, and it’s adding a 19th Tera Type, whose abilities remain a mystery. There’s a second DLC – The Indigo Disc that will unveil new Paradox Pokémon and a Legendary Pokémon Terapagos later this year as well.
Oh, and did we mention Mew is also up for grabs? Simply input the code GETYOURMEW in the Mystery Gift section of the in-game menu, and you get to claim a level 5 Mew equipped with moves like Swift, Light Screen, Life Dew, and a move attached to a specific Tera Type. Just like Mewtwo, Mew will also come with a Mightiest Mark. This offer expires on September 18th, so don’t dilly-dally.
Between the adrenaline-pumping Mewtwo Tera Raid, the promise of new Pokémon, and game-expanding DLCs, it’s a good time to be a Pokémon Trainer. So gather your friends, strategize with your most powerful Pokémon, and brace yourself. The next few weeks in the Pokémon world are going to be a wild ride.
