How to Craft Every Type of Pal Sphere in Palworld

This is how you can craft all six Pal Sphere types in Palworld.

Palworld is teeming with numerous adorable (and terrifying) Pals, each awaiting capture. However, not all Pals are created equal in terms of how easy it is to actually catch them. In Palworld, the device you use to capture Pals is called a Pal Sphere. You can then of Pal Spheres like Pokeballs.

Each Pal Sphere will be one of six different colors, with each color signifying a rarity level. Ranging from the basic blue Spheres to the legendary purple Spheres, each different colored Pal Sphere can capture different strength Pals. As you’d expect, legendary Spheres are the strongest when it comes to capturing Pals, and you’ll usually use them to catch only the strongest and rarest Alpha and Boss Pals.

You can either craft these Spheres or find them in the Overworld while exploring. The more common blue Spheres are frequently found, but the higher rarity ones are less common. It is best to start collecting materials required to craft these Pal Spheres during mid-game and late-game. The basic blue Spheres are usually found laying on the ground all over the world.

You can find higher rarity Spheres such as a Mega Sphere in chests.

Crafting Pal Spheres, including up to the Hyper Sphere, is a relatively straightforward process as the required materials — Paldium Fragments, Ingots, Wood, and Cement — are readily found throughout the game world. However, crafting higher rarity Pal Spheres poses a challenge due to both the rare materials required for each type and the corresponding level requirements that must be met before attempting to craft them.

You can easily craft the common blue Pal Sphere using your Primitive Workbench, but to craft higher rarity Pal Spheres, you must build a Sphere Workbench once you’ve unlocked it from your technology tree. And if you want to automate your Pal Sphere production, you can build a Sphere Assembly Line at level 27.

How to Craft Pal Spheres

There are six different types of Pal Spheres. Below is a table outlining all the requirements for every Pal Sphere and their recipes.

How to Get Pal Sphere Ingredients

To craft all the Pal Spheres, you need to get several ingredients. Here’s how you can get every one of them.

Wood

Wood is readily available all around you. You can either pick it off the ground or just chop down the trees.

You can chop the trees faster using an axe.

Stone

Similarly, Stone is also abundantly available all around you.

You can either pick it off the ground or mine big boulders.

Paldium Fragments

Paldium Fragments are also available everywhere in the form of both ore vein or just a single piece laying on the ground.

It is a blue colored rock.

Ingot

To obtain Ingots, start by mining ores found in bronze-colored boulders scattered across various locations.

Ore Vein.

Once you’ve acquired the ores, you need to build a furnace which is unlocked at level 10. You need 20x Wood, 50x Stone, and 3x Flame Organ (acquired by killing fire type Pals) to build a furnace. You can then use the furnace to convert your collected ores into ingots. To make 1 ingot, you need 2 ores.

You must have a fire elemental Pal that can refine by providing heat to the furnace. The easiest early Pal you can capture is Foxsparks near your spawn point. You can find several low level Foxsparks at Grassy Behemoth Hills.

Cement

You can start crafting cement once you reach level 19. You can unlock it for one technology point from the technology tree and it can be crafting at the High Quality Workbench (not the Primitive Workbench).

You can craft 10 cement using 250x Stone, 5x Bone, and 5x Pal Fluid.

Carbon Fiber

Crafting Carbon Fiber comes quite late into the game ,as you need a Production Assembly Line to be able to craft it. The Production Assembly Line unlocks at level 28 and the Carbon Fiber technology itself unlocks at level 35.

You can craft one Carbon Fiber by using 2x Coal or 5x Charcoal. You can refine some Charcoal through the furnace by using some Wood.

Refine Ingot

To get Refined Ingot, you need to unlock Improved Furnace and an Electric Furnace at level 34 and 44, respectively.

Once you’ve built them, you can get Refined Ingot by feeding in 2x Ore and 2x Coal.

Pal Metal Ingot

This is the rarest ingot and can only be acquired as a drop from one of the two Alpha Pals – Astegon and Shadowbreak.

Astegon can be found in a Destroyed Mineshaft in the volcanic region. The entrance is slightly west of the Mount Obsidian Midpoint teleport waypoint.

When you enter the cave, continue to go deeper. Don’t worry, you won’t get lost as it is a linear path to Astegon.

Shadowbreak can be found on No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary island on the map’s eastern edge. You might need a Pal that can fly, such as Nitewing, so you can mount on it to reach the island. Or you can use a swimming Pal such as a Surfent Terra. Fortunately, Surfent Terras are also found near the shoreline of the desert overlooking the No. 3 Wildlife Sanctuary.

When you arrive on the island, you can either find another Astegon or a Shadowbreaker. Unfortunately, we couldn’t get the Shadowbreaker to spawn and got Astegon instead.

But you can always kill the Astegon, run around the island, and return to the same spot to see if Shadowbreaker spawned.

Pal Spheres Level Correspondence

Capture rates in Palworld are tied to the levels of the Pals you encounter. Lower-level Pals, ranging from level 1 to 9, are best captured using the basic blue Pal Sphere due to its effective multiplier. However, attempting to use the same basic sphere on a higher-level Pal, say level 30, won’t be as successful, as the capture rate multiplier decreases.

The following table lists the Pal Spheres and the Pal levels they are best suited against.

Pal Sphere Pal Level
Basic Pal Sphere 1 – 9
Mega Sphere 10 – 19
Giga Sphere 20 – 29
Hyper Sphere 30 – 39
Ultra Sphere 40 – 49
Legendary Sphere 50

Since it is a multiplicative rate, you can always use lower rarity Pal Spheres against higher level Pals as long as you can bring their rates down. Yes, you can do that by stunning them, freezing them, poisoning them, reducing their health, or even just throwing the Pal Sphere at them and hitting them on the back. All these increases your chances of capturing a Pal. Check out our elemental affinities guide to learn Pal weaknesses and their strengths that you can use to your advantage.

Another way to increase your capturing efficiency is by collecting Lifmunk Effigies and offering them at the Statue of Power.

If you have legendary and ultra spheres, save them for high level Alpha Pals!
