There has been some attention on the series as Microsoft is set to acquire Activision's Call of Duty series. Gamers are comparing the two video game series in terms of profitability and player base.
According to former 343 Industries creative director Frank O'Conor, the Halo franchise is worth around $6 billion across games and other media including TV shows. O'Connor is the latest member of the 343 hierarchy that has left Microsoft after working on the series for almost two decades.
O'Connor's figures may be slightly off as Microsoft has already reported the earnings before the launch of Halo Infinite in 2021. 343 Industries has not shared how much Halo Infinite earned since its launch.
