Harrison Ford's Indiana Jones series doesn't need to prove anything else at all. The franchise has generated nearly $2 billion at the global box office and many consider it one of the best movie series of all time. So, when a fifth installment was initially announced, some said it's no longer necessary. In fact, the long-time series lead, Harrison Ford, had similar thoughts.

Ford recently spoke to Empire about the new movie and said it wasn't necessary. "I didn't feel it was necessary to do another one," Ford shared. I just thought it would be nice to see one where Indiana Jones was at the end of his journey." Ford explained that he would take on a new movie "if a script came along that I felt gave me a way to extend the character.

The script for the fifth movie delivered what Ford wanted for a sequel to 2008's Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The screenplay which extended the character proved too good to pass up. Despite his doubts, Ford took the opportunity to star as Indiana Jones for the final time and was happy with the results.

Indiana Jones Art

"It's full of adventure, full of laughs, full of real emotion. And it's complex and it's sneaky," Ford shared about his experience filming Indiana Jones 5. "The shooting of it was tough and long and arduous, but I'm very happy with the film that we have."
