Disney's earlier global box office "domination" was due mostly to two things: the success of Avatar: The Way of Water and China opening its doors to Disney films.
But, while Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania and Black Panther: Wakanda Forever were confirmed for Chinese theatrical releases, fans still worried that the rest of MCU's slate wouldn't get the same opportunity. Thankfully, audiences in China who are looking forward to watching Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 on May 5 can breathe a sigh of relief.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is officially confirmed to premiere in China at the same time as the rest of the world.
This doesn't guarantee that James Gunn's final MCU film will do well financially, though. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is a good example of this.
