Grand Theft Auto VI, scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X sometime in 2025, has secured its first award from PlayStation.

The hype surrounding GTA 6 is hardly surprising, considering its predecessor, Grand Theft Auto V, released in 2013, has become the second best-selling game ever and the most successful entertainment product of all time. With the weight of high expectations, Rockstar Games seems to have struck the right chord, as indicated by the debut trailer for GTA VI, which has captivated audiences globally.

PlayStation, in its annual awards ceremony, acknowledged the immense anticipation for GTA VI by awarding it "Most Anticipated PlayStation Game of 2024 and Beyond", which is a big deal - it's not exclusive to the platform and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, which won Most Anticipated Game award at this year's The Game Awards, is coming out in February 2024. This only just goes to show just how big of a deal GTA 6 is - it's topping charts well before its release.

This isn't likely going to be the last award that GTA 6 will win before it's available to play.
