Grand Theft Auto 5 could be leaving Xbox Game Pass soon, marking the end of its nth tour on Microsoft's supposedly profitable video game subscription service.

Neither Rockstar nor Microsoft have confirmed that GTA 5 is leaving Game Pass, but several users are reporting they've received a notification on the Game Pass app on their phones that it's leaving on December 31. However, GTA 5 doesn't appear in the "Leaving soon" section of the said app.

The aforementioned section is where Microsoft puts the games that will exit the Game Pass library within two weeks.

With two years still left to go before GTA 6 comes out, people will continue to flock to GTA 5 for the foreseeable future.

GTA 5 is currently discounted to $19.99 (it's normally sold for $39.99) on Xbox Series S/X. So, in case the second-best-selling video game ever leaves Game Pass, now is the best time to get a copy. You can always continue your progress even after it has left the Game Pass if you get a permanent copy. Of course, you can always wait for when GTA 5 comes back to Game Pass again.

GTA 5 often comes and goes from Game Pass, presumably because it's probably too expensive for Microsoft to make it a permanent fixture. This time, GTA 5 arrived in July. This means that it will have stuck around for a little over five months before it rides off into the non-subscription sunset.
