All monster fans around the world, it's time to stop arguing about who's the bigger, badder colossus and unite in anticipation for Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Warner Bros. Pictures has just released the first trailer for the MonsterVerse film that's set to redefine what it means to be larger-than-life in the cinematic universe.
As we pick up where we left off in Godzilla vs. Kong, it now seems our favorite giants have called a truce. Godzilla, the King of the Monsters, and Kong, the protector of his domain, are teaming up because Warner Bros. is fresh out of ideas and this is the only logical step to take - that is, until we reach Godizilla xxx Kong and make furry artist profits skyrocket.
The world is under threat, as you do, from a new wave of MUTOs (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organisms), a bunch of ugly, globe-trotting menaces that are huge (and loud) enough to attract the attention of Godzilla and Kong - who now has a robotic arm, for some reason.
The big bad of this story is the Scar King - a blast from Godzilla's past. This ancient titan once ruled the Hollow Earth, but now he's back with a vengeance. His thirst for power knows no bounds, and Godzilla, in a historic showdown centuries ago, managed to trap him in the Hollow Earth.
