Netflix's Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery has set a new streaming record, according to Nielsen streaming rankings. The Rian Johnson creation recorded the most streaming minutes for a film in a week with 2.89 billion minutes. It achieved this feat in its first full week on Netflix from Sunday, December 26, to Sunday, January 1, and replaced Disney's Hocus Pocus 2 which previously held the record with 2.73 billion minutes.

With a runtime of 189 minutes, Glass Onion's recorded minutes mean streamers watched it a total of 20.76 million times.

All things considered, Glass Onion's performance is hardly a surprise as the film was the darling of critics, viewers, as well as award organizations alike. It has an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay and two Golden Globe nominations for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy and Best Musical or Comedy Motion Picture.

Apart from Glass Onion, only four other programs recorded over 1 billion streaming minutes. The Amazon Prime Video TV, Jack Ryan, held the number two position with 1.665 billion recorded minutes, while another Netflix program, Wednesday, came a very close third with 1.66 billion minutes. The remaining shows are yet another Netflix program, Emily in Paris, and the Peacock series starring Kevin Costner, Yellowstone, with 1.4 billion minutes and 1 billion minutes respectively.
