Gears of War is still one of Xbox's biggest franchises despite Gears 6 still not being confirmed and still being a few years away, since Coalition is switching to Unreal Engine 5. But according to the industry insider that originated the initial report, Microsoft is still working on the rumored Gears of War Remastered Collection.
The past 12 months have been filled with various reports of a Gears of War bundle with remastered versions being in the works. But since there has been no official announcement from Xbox and nothing came to fruition, fans were discouraged. But the co-host of the XboxEra podcast and the author behind the original report, Nick Baker, took to Twitter to double down on his claims.
This is the latest development we've heard about the possible remaster of the original Gears of War trilogy. In September 2022, Microsoft filed a gaming-related Gears of War trademark, which led fans to believe that either Gears 6 is on the way or this bundle is nearing completion. Whatever comes out of it, Xbox users will be happy, especially when you consider the drought of premium exclusive games they experienced last year.
