Gearbox has once again delayed the launch of the highly anticipated PC game Homeworld 3.
The publishing company took to its Twitter account on Thursday to announce this development. The game was originally slated for a 2022 launch before it was postponed to the first half of 2023.
Gearbox wrote that this decision stems from its dedication to providing fans with a game that is up to the standards of its previous entries in the series.
It wrote, "Our primary goal is to deliver a Homeworld experience that lives up to the standards set by its predecessors and is worthy of this series' incredible legacy."
The company promised that the title is well on the way to that level but more time is needed to make certain of it. In its words, "Homeworld 3 is shaping up to be exactly that, but in order to fully realize that vision we need more time to refine and polish the game."
For fans who have preordered the game's Collector's Edition, the company reassured them that its plans for that haven't changed. In response to a user who asked how the postponed launch affects this item, Gearbox promised that gamers will receive it when the game launches next February.
