Riot Games is the latest video game company to hook up with Xbox Game Studios and make Game Pass a lot better.

As announced at the Xbox Bethesda Games Showcase, the partnership between Riot Games and Microsoft will see some of the video game development company’s biggest games be a more attractive option for Game Pass holders.

Here’s a quick rundown of what Game Pass subscribers on the PC and mobile phones are getting:

  • League of Legends – All Champions unlocked
  • League of Legends Wild Rift – All Champions unlocked
  • VALORANT – All Agents unlocked
  • Legends of Runeterra – Foundations Set unlocked
  • Teamfight Tactics – Select Little Legends Unlocked

This is considerable value to be had for what’s effectively a freebie.

To put just how much money Game Pass subscribers will save on the PC, you only need to take a look at how many champions there are in League of Legends. At the moment, Riot Games’ top-billing MOBA title has 159 champions. Although League of Legends is a free-to-play game, you only have access to a rotation of 16 champions in unranked games every week. Meanwhile, you’ll have to purchase the champion to play it in ranked. According to estimates, players would otherwise have to spend more than $600 to get every champion in League of Legends.

When you total the value of each champion in League of Legends Wild Rift and Agent in VALORANT, among others, well, you get the point.

Even if you're not familiar with Riot Games' titles, the Game Pass freebies will make them more appealing to test out.

What’s more, Riot confirmed that Game Pass holders will enjoy other unannounced benefits come the winter season. We wouldn’t be surprised if these benefits extended to other upcoming Riot Games’ titles like VALORANT mobile. Not to mention, the same bonuses might also be available if Riot ever brings its games to consoles.

That’s a big if, but who knows?

According to Riot Games co-founder, Marc Merill, Riot Games will “share more about the partnership and how members can access the Game Pass content” soon.
