Game-breaking GTA trilogy bug is killing players for no reason

According to u/JorinoL, there is a game-breaking bug in Vice City where he dies and fails a mission for seemingly no reason. The clip has since gone viral with other players offering their thoughts. For example, one of the more prevailing theories is that there is a glitch in the game that causes the system to confuse the mission with something that takes place underwater. This would explain why the player's health would slowly decline until the protagonist Tommy is dead as if they were drowning.

It's clear that Rockstar and Grove Street still have a lot of work to do to fix the GTA Trilogy. Bugs like these have soured the novelty of playing the classic GTA games on modern systems for most gamers. The community is already comparing GTA Trilogy to Cyberpunk 2077, which, at this point, is a valid comparison.

It will be interesting to see what Rockstar does to try and mitigate the damage to its reputation. Making the classic GTA games available on the PC isn't enough. Rockstar needs to find a way to make audiences enjoy GTA Trilogy as they should be played. Otherwise, all those talks about aremastered version of GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption might as well go down the drain.

In other news, GTA modders have filed a counterclaim against Take-Two Interactive. Meanwhile, Hazelight Studios has given up trying to fight against the trademark claim filed by Take-Two against them.
