Developers have often used racing sims to showcase the technical power of their latest consoles. However, for the PS5 and Xbox Series S/X, Sony nor Microsoft had a new Gran Turismo or Forza game to go with the console's release. Well, Xbox did, but that was only a next-gen update for Forza Horizon 4, which, although welcome, is not exactly a next-gen exclusive title.
Thankfully, nearly a year after the release of Xbox Series S/X, the Xbox will be getting a next-gen racing game in Forza Horizon 5. Forza Horizon 5 New Location and Release Date Revealed Playground Games describes Forza Horizon 5 as its most beautiful game yet.
Playground Games, developers of the series, have confirmed that the next installment in the popular open-world racing simulator series will be set in New Mexico. This confirms an earlier leak that we reported on and said that the next Forza Horizon 5 would be set in either Japan or Mexico.
In addition to this, Playground Games also confirmed that Forza Horizon 5 will be releasing on November 9, 2021.
Unlike the Forza Motorsport games, the Forza Horizon titles have been a more liberal take on racing sims. The series is known for its beautiful open-world locales. So far, we've seen the Forza Horizon games take gamers to Australia (Forza Horizon 3) and the United Kingdom (Forza Horizon 4).
