Does the idea of fighting hordes of Xenomorphs entice you? Then, say no more! A new title set in the Aliens universe is set to release this Summer of 2021.
Aliens: Fireteam is the latest title set in the sci-fi horror franchise. However, unlike the previous video game set in the Alien universe where you didn't really have much in the way of defending yourself, Aliens: Fireteam is a cooperative third-person survival shooter where three-player teams must work together to fight hordes of Xenomorphs in a struggle for survival.
The game is currently being developed by the San Jose-based Cold Iron Studios in collaboration with 20th Century Games.
What Is Aliens: Fireteam?
Aliens: Fireteam is set 23 years following the events of the original Alien trilogy of films. In the game, players will take control of a Colonial Marine. They're aboard the USS Endeavor when they're tasked to answer a distress call from one of Earth's outer colonies and facilities that have been overrun with aliens. Sound familiar?
In addition to facilities, the game will also take players to abandoned ruins and other places. All the action will take place across four different campaigns. Players can play with as many as two of their friends or play with AI teammates.
Players will be face off against more than just Xenomorphs too, the foreign creatures prominently featured in the Alien franchise. The game will reportedly feature more than 20 different enemy types.
