Fans are convinced that the moon is hinting at a GTA 6 announcement on October 3

Digging even further, some fans put their tinfoil-lined thinking hats on and discovered something interesting about the moon. If you look closely, the moon in the image is in its "Waning Gibbious" phase, which, as @Dirty_Worka points out, will be the same phase that the moon in real life will enter on Tuesday, October 3.

Now, does this mean Rockstar will announce GTA 6 to kick off what's easily one of the most stacked months in gaming history? The theory is pretty far out there, so don't hope too much.

While choosing the letters "V" and "I" is likely deliberate, as we've mentioned, this is more of a nod, a red herring if you will. It's Rockstar's way of telling fans that it knows that many were expecting a GTA 6 reveal at some point during the month-long celebration of the 10th anniversary of GTA V, leaving hopeful fans heartbroken when an official announcement didn't happen.

Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive have kept as tight of a lid on any detail surrounding the next GTA entry. Aside from the legitimate leaks from last year, we know next to nothing about GTA 6. We're not even sure if it will be released as GTA 6 - it could have a subtitle, like Grand Theft Auto: Vice City or Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, for all we know.

For now, it's best to leave Rockstar to its own devices. Or, not, maybe you find joy in chasing the clues and piecing them together to get the faintest idea of what Rockstar has planned.

Whatever you do, maybe just don't go on stage to ask Rockstar to give an update about GTA 6, because that may land you in jail.

As for Grand Theft Auto VI, when the game does eventually come out, it will likely be available exclusively on next-gen consoles, the best-selling PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series S/X. A PC port isn't off the table but don't expect it to come sooner. Fingers crossed, Rockstar is working closely with Nintendo to bring the game eventually to the next Nintendo Switch, which may or may not come out by late next year.
