A fan takes Grand Theft Auto 5 machinima to the next level by recreating the new trailer for GTA 6. The new teaser video highlights the huge leap in graphical quality for the newest installment.

The teaser for Grand Theft Auto 6 was one of the most viewed video game trailers in recent years given that many fans have been waiting on the game for quite a long time now. Despite being leaked days earlier, the video has been watched by over 160 million users on the official Rockstar Games YouTube channel as of writing. For the sake of comparison, the first trailer for GTA 5 currently has 107 million views on the channel and it has been out for twelve years.

YouTube content creator RavenwestR1 made an impressive scene-for-scene recreation of the GTA 6 trailer using the GTA 5 engine. It is amazing to see how much creators can accomplish using the in-game engine. The resulting video has a striking resemblance to the GTA 6 trailer based on the scenes but does look outdated in terms of graphics. The GTA 6 teaser uses photorealistic lighting, higher-quality textures, and smoother animation which weren't available when GTA 5 was released.

Playing the videos in a side-by-side comparison, viewers can see just how much the quality of video game graphics has come in the last ten years. Even when Grand Theft Auto 5 supports 4K and ray tracing on the PS 5 and Xbox Series X consoles, it doesn't come close to the fidelity of the GTA 6 trailer.
