Despite being infamously incomplete, George R.R. Martin's book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, has been adapted to two highly successful shows: Game of Thrones and House of the Dragon. In what is another feather to his cap, Exile Content Studio has acquired the rights to Martin's sci-fi book, Hunter's Row, and is currently working on an adaptation of the book for the big screen.
The popular author and screenwriter co-wrote the book with best-selling authors, Gardner Dozois and Daniel Abraham.
During a recent interview with Variety, Martin discussed the acquisition and expressed his excitement at the planned adaptation. In his words, "I'm so pleased that after almost 16 years, 'Hunter's Run' will be made into a film. I'm bursting with excitement for the rich sci-fi universe I helped create with my dear friends Daniel and Gardner to exist beyond the pages of our book."
Hunter's Run is a 2007 science fiction novel first written over 30 years ago. Dozois originally conceived the film's plot back in 1976, when he also created the protagonist's Latino ethnicity due to insufficient Hispanic representation in the science fiction genre. Sadly, Dozois soon hit a block, which prevented him from progressing with the book.
