Cue some somber music and dim the lights, because it seems the Deadites have finally won a round. Developer Saber Interactive has just dropped a bombshell that will dishearten fans of Evil Dead: The Game who are expecting more spine-chilling content. The game, it seems, is dead.
In a statement shared via the company's official Twitter account, Saber Interactive announced its decision to halt the development of new content for Evil Dead: The Game. If that wasn't enough of a gut punch, the Nintendo Switch version, which many were eagerly anticipating, has also been axed.
Here's the full statement: To the Evil Dead: The Game community,
Today, we have made the decision not to pursue the development of new content for Evil Dead: The Game. We also confirm that we will not be releasing a Nintendo Switch version of the game.
We will keep the servers up for the foreseeable future and address any major issues that arise.
On behalf of the entire team at Saber, thank you for all the groovy times and your continued support. Launched in 2022, Evil Dead: The Game is an action-packed, multiplayer game inspired by the horror franchise created by legendary filmmaker Sam Raimi. Players can team up as iconic characters from the Evil Dead universe, including Ash Williams, to face the relentless forces of the Deadites.
