Leave it to Epic Games to shock audiences.
For years, Epic has made a living one-upping both itself and the competition. Back in 2018, Epic brought Thanos into Fortnite, effectively kickstarting the crossover-hype market of today. Since then, Epic has crashed Fortnite on purpose because it was sucked in by a black hole and held virtual concerts in the game, among other events. But, one thing that no one thought would happen in Fortnite is for Epic to remove the one thing that separated it from other battle royale shooters - building.
In a nutshell, Fortnite is a standard battle royale game with cartoonish graphics and a bit of Minecraft. So, when Epic unveiled Chapter 3, Season 2, you can only imagine the surprise as players found out that they could no longer build in Fortnite.
As expected, Epic found a way to tie this building mechanic removal into Fortnite's story, and it appears that Epic is removing this feature permanently with a brand new mode.
