Diablo 4’s class balance is still massively broken and Elon Musk can’t stop complaining about it. In a recent tweet, the billionaire gamer lamented the fact that a lot of the top players in the current season use just one class.
The world’s richest man often tweets about the Blizzard ARPG. One tweet caught the attention of users on the Diablo 4 subreddit where Musk posted a screenshot of the Maxroll leaderboard for Diablo 4. The image shows that a majority of the top players use the Barbarian class.
“What I like most about Diablo is how balanced the classes are and how much the game designers love druids,” Musk wrote.

The tweet is different from the one shown on the Diablo 4 subreddit. Musk previously said, “Character balance sucks. You might as well rename the game from Diablo to Barbarian.”
Musk mains a Druid and has been constantly posting gameplay footage of the current season. In one recent tweet, the billionaire shared a video of him taking on Uber Lilith solo using his main class. There are other videos on his X account where he plays with friends using the same class. He even responded to a tweet by Phil Spencer who showed off his character in the current season.
The tech entrepreneur is right to complain about the seemingly broken class balancing system within the Diablo 4. A quick check of the current Maxroll leaderboard shows that only one Sorcerer character is in the top 15. There is also just one Druid in the top 50 at the 32nd spot. Interestingly, there are no Necromancers and Rogues in the top 50. The highest ranked Necromancer player is at 62nd place while the top Rogue player managed to be in the 79th position.
Musk previously said that the Druid class needs to be buffed in order to reach Tier 25 of Abattoir of Zir. The billionaire thinks that his class is subpar, saying, “I will muddle along with my sub S Tier Druid (sigh).”
Nice.
Great game! Congratulations to the whole team.
Druid needs a buff to reach AoZ Tier 25 I think.
Have you tried the Abattoir?

In any case, Musk is right about the Barbarian class being a cut above the rest. The Hammer of the Ancients skill of Barbarians deals a ton of damage and is probably the strongest build in the game right now. You can literally one-hit almost everything with the overpowered skill.
In the Abattoir of Zir dungeon event, players have to defeat enemies within the time limit to complete one tier. There are 25 tiers, with the difficulty ramping up as players progress. Players have confirmed that the current event is much harder than the Tier 100 Nightmare Dungeons of the previous season.
The Barbarian, especially when using the Hammer of the Ancients, deals a massive amount of damage in quick bursts which explains why it is the meta for the Abattoir of Zir. Druids, on the other hand, will need some time to build up damage modifiers before eventually dishing out a ton of damage.

We do agree with Musk that other classes have to be buffed to match the Barbarian class. Hopefully, Blizzard does a better job in Season 3 of balancing classes and fixing inherent issues with the current class system. Season 2 was a step in the right direction and is something the studio can build on for the next one.
Let’s just hope that Blizzard sticks to buffing classes and stop nerfing things.
