Elizabeth Olsen's last appearance as Scarlet Witch was in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, where her character, who was under the Darkhold's influence, played the film's antagonist. However, at the end of the film, she'd buried herself under the rubble of Mount Wungabore, which led many to believe she'd met her demise.
While there is no confirmation of her death or otherwise, Olsen has expressed her desire to return to the franchise during a question-and-answer segment at Kuwait's Comfest Con 2023.
A fan asked the 34-year-old actress about her preferred storyline for the character and she responded that she would rather not reveal her wishes. She cited the possibility that she could spoil a potential future Scarlet Witch project as an excuse for her silence.
In her words, "Well, honestly, if I were to tell you exactly what I would want, I think I would be spoiling something. Because Kevin Feige genuinely asks us what we want to do with the character. Then, he does it. So, I think what I… I don't know if I can share. I just want to come back."
