Elizabeth Olsen stole the show with her MCU debut in 2015's Avengers: Age of Ultron as Wanda Maximoff. Since then, the heel-turned-Avenger has played an integral role in subsequent movies in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, scaring the bejesus out of Thanos in the climactic battle in 2019's Avengers: Endgame and before fully transforming into the reality-shaping chaos magic-wielding sorceress, Scarlet Witch, following the events of the first MCU show on Disney+, WandaVision.
Now that Olsen is taking center stage in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness alongside Benedict Cumberbatch, there is an interesting report suggesting that Marvel Studios has extended her contract by nearly a decade, including a stipulation that she'll eventually get to star in her solo feature film.
The information comes from self-described "Marvel insider", Harry Bowls, on Twitter, where he claims that there is speculation that Olsen's next MCU contract includes a Scarlet Witch solo film. Of course, it's best to take this intel with a heavy dose of skepticism. After all, contracts don't usually last for years but several projects. Then again, the phrasing could be interpreted as including a specific number of projects within the next couple of years, which isn't exactly outside the realm of possibility. Still, as Disney nor Marvel Studios has confirmed Olsen's rumored contract extension, consider everything you just read as hearsay.
