Bethesda has announced its future content plans for the successful MMORPG, The Elder Scrolls Online. Get ready for a full year of adventures in Gates of Oblivion with the new Blackwood expansion (they call it a chapter), which arrives on PC and Stadia on June 1, 2021, and Xbox One and PlayStation 4 on June 8, 2021.
On your journey in Gates of Oblivion you will explore an unprecedented story that will span all the content released for ESO in 2021, such as the upcoming DLC The Elder Scrolls Online: Flames of Ambition and then the Blackwood expansion. The idea is to discover the plans and schemes of Daedric Prince Mehrunes Dagon about 800 years before the events seen in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. The Elder Scrolls Online 2021 Release Schedule Gates of Oblivion's release schedule is the following: Flames of Ambition arrives at PC and Stadia on March 8, 2021, and Xbox One and PS4 on March 16, 2021, followed by Blackwood, which launches on PC and Stadia on June 1, 2021, and Xbox One and PS4 on June 8, 2021. After that, Bethesda will release some DLC with a dungeon pack in the 3rd quarter of 2021 and DLC with a story zone in the last quarter of 2021. The Elder Scrolls Online: Blackwood Expansion Overview Blackwood promises more than 30 hours of gameplay with new content. It will introduce a new 12 player Trial, a new companion system, new dungeons, solitary quests, and world bosses, along with several improvements in the overall quality of the experience. You can also explore a new area of Tamriel, one where the culture of the Argonians clashes head-on with the ambitions of the Imperial.

You will be able to recruit an NPC ally to travel and fight alongside you, each companion having their own history and personality. They can follow you in almost every mission, and their skills rise level in the process. You will be able to customize your companion as you see fit to complement your build. The only place you can't take them is PvP - this is because it wouldn't be player vs player if a non-player character could participate!
